Red Magic Unveils Powerhouse Gaming Flagship Designed to Crush Mobile Benchmarks

2 min read

Red Magic has officially stepped up its game with the launch of the 12 Pro+ in China, a device that reads more like a portable console than a standard smartphone. At the heart of this beast is the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset, working in tandem with specialized RedCore gaming and display chips to push performance to the limit. To ensure those internals don’t overheat during intense sessions, the company integrated an ICE cooling system that pairs a liquid-cooling setup with a high-speed internal fan spinning at over 25,000 rpm.

Gamers will likely be most impressed by the visual experience and endurance. The phone boasts a massive 6.85 inch OLED screen with a blistering 185Hz refresh rate and almost nonexistent bezels. Because the selfie camera is hidden beneath the glass, there are no distracting notches or holes interrupting the view. Supporting all this power is a staggering 8,400mAh battery, which can be topped up via 120W wired charging or 80W wireless charging, though many users will prefer the bypass charging mode that powers the hardware directly without stressing the battery during long play sessions.

Beyond raw speed, Red Magic kept several enthusiast features that have vanished from other flagships, such as dedicated shoulder triggers for better control and a classic 3.5mm headphone jack for lag-free audio. While it still handles photography with dual 50 megapixel rear cameras, the focus remains firmly on utility and durability, boasting IP68 and IP69 ratings against dust and water. Prices start around $1,050 for the base model and climb to $1,350 for higher storage options, with an ultra premium Golden Saga edition featuring carbon fiber accents soon to follow.
